A Celebration of the 70s – A Night of Good Vibes

Get out your bell bottoms and polyester shirts, pick out your afro, and fire up the shaggin’ wagon to join Roadside Attraction at UrbanBeat on March 3rd from 4-8pm for a Celebration of the 70s. Prizes for the best 70s threads!

Roadside Attraction recently celebrated their 7th anniversary. Focusing mainly on 70s rock, the band has created a loyal following for their ability to capture the sound of legendary bands including Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Boston, and The Cars, as well as bringing out well-known tunes from Redbone, Ace, The Records, Triumph and Climax Blues Band. They’re known for their four-part harmonies, performance tunes, jams, and party atmosphere.

Roadside Attraction is:

Karen Pryor – Karen has worked as a singer and musician for many years in a variety of bands. She was part of the house band at the legendary Green Door in the 80s and performed in many locales including a six-month stint on a cruise ship in Japan, resorts on Mackinac Island and Florida and many local clubs and bars.

Tim Colonnese – Tim is celebrating his 50th year of professional musicianship this year. Honing his craft in upstate New York, he has played bass in bands throughout the United States and in Hong Kong, and as a session artist in studios in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Doug Winkler – Doug comes from a diverse musical history, having performed in many musical genres: rock, jazz, country, and Motown. You can add a few years in a polka band along and as a percussionist with the Grand Rapids Symphoenette Orchestra. He loves the drumming mission of providing the consistency and flavor that songs require, along with elements of surprise to enhance the overall sound.

Gary Pryor – Gary has been performing in clubs, events, and festivals for over 40 years. His experience includes warming up for Molly Hatchet, Blue Oyster Cult, and others. Gary is a songwriter and was involved in a 2010 project releasing an album of all original material. He is as comfortable improvising as he is reproducing each guitar part note for note.

Doors at 3pm, show at 4pm. Tickets are $10 General Admission or $40 Dinner and a Show (admission plus four-course meal to be chosen on ticket link)
