Coquito

How To Make Coquito

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 (15-oz.) cans cream of coconut

  • 2 (12-oz.) cans evaporated milk

  • 1 c. (or more) white rum

  • 1 large egg yolk (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp. grated fresh nutmeg, plus more serving

  • Cinnamon sticks, for serving

Directions

  • Step 1. In a blender, blend cream of coconut, milk, rum, egg yolk (if using), ground cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg until well combined, 1 to 2 minutes. Taste and add more rum if desired.

  • Step 2. Pour the coquito into a large container with a lid, cover, and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 2 hours or up to 4 days. To serve, stir well to disperse the cinnamon and pour into small cups. 

  • Step 3. Garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon sticks.

Cranberry Paloma

How To Make Cranberry Paloma

Ingredients

  • Granulated sugar, for rim

  • 1 grapefruit wedge

  • Ice

  • 2 1/2 oz. cranberry juice cocktail

  • 2 oz. blanco or reposado tequila

  • 1 1/2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice

  • Soda water, for topping off

  • Grapefruit twist and fresh cranberries, for garnish

Directions

  • Step 1. Pour some sugar onto a small plate. Rub one side of a Collins glass with grapefruit wedge, then dip into sugar, turning to coat.

  • Step 2. Fill prepared glass with ice. Add cranberry juice cocktail, tequila, and grapefruit juice. Top off with club soda and gently stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with grapefruit twist and cranberries.
